On Thursday night, I was wondering what I was going to do with my weekend since it was going to start on Friday instead of Saturday. I somehow managed to fill the time and not my face so that’s good. (I’m trying to cut back on the bad food and increase the exercise).
Apparently, I needed to sleep because I did that until 10 a.m. (after having gone to bed at 11 p.m.) then watched “The Fifth Element” for at least the 5th time but it’s one of those movies that is stupid enough yet entertaining enough that you still want to watch it – so I did. After that I figured it was time to head off to the gym for the usual ‘try and kick my own ass’ session but it didn’t work so well since I didn’t eat enough before leaving the apartment. I wasn’t tired after my 45 minutes on the treadmill but extremely hungry so I had to leave. Grrrr! There was the option to buy a protein bar or a shake from downstairs but I’m also trying to save cash so I figured I’d just go home and eat real food and try again on Saturday.
This time, I had learned my lesson. I packed a protein bar and ate eggs (not cereal) in the morning and then went to the gym and did a good 75 minutes of cardio. Not only that – I got to finish watching “Uncle Buck” since it was on the screen directly in front of my treadmill. My brother and I had been watching it before I left. He and I both couldn’t believe he’d never seen it before! Such a classic! I love John Candy. (this is just funny)
That evening, I went to the Bent Mast with friends and it was all good. We played some trivial pursuit from the card boxes that are kept on almost all the tables and typically, we didn’t know many but surprised ourselves with the ones we did. The reason I posted that link was because I went upstairs and before I reached the head of the staircase I stopped dead in my tracks because I heard singing. A lot of singing. At this point, I wasn’t aware of the supposed hauntings until I got back downstairs but if I had known about it went I heard the singing I would have flipped out! Turns out it was just a room full of people attempting (and I do mean attempting) to sing Shenandoah – all of the verses and completely acepella… weird thing to do with your Saturday night but who am I to judge?!
Sunday was gym again (shocking I know) and laundry day. But this was laundry day with a twist. No quarters and loonies for me – I did laundry in a circa 1880’s home that my friend is house sitting. We played scrabble, cooked dinner, played the piano, and watched Desperate Housewives. A most excellent Sunday and overall, a very good weekend even though I didn’t do the score study or write the article had planned on completing. Unlike Likalia, I did bathe.
(love you!)

I had no one to impress so why bother with the shower? I had had one a mere 16 hours earlier or something…lol

Oooh is Gayle house sitting again? I ADORE that house!
So, the key is protein is it? I need to know as I’ve signed up for fitness bootcamp…6am tues/thurs. What was I thinking?!!
Hey, when are you coming up here? I haven’t given you your Christmas present yet.
Oh, and embrace the breathable, wicking fabrics; you will never go back to cotton [at least at the gym
] I find Winners a good place to try as their sports stuff is usually somewhat cheaper than Sportmart and the like. MEC is good too but a lot of their fabrics feel sort of ‘unfortunate’. Some are good though
